GP VR – Windmill Hill Medical, Launceston

The Organisation
Windmill Hill Medical is a new medical practice established in April 2019 and is GP owned. A small friendly team of 6 GP’s (3 FTE) and a Nurse Practitioner who are well supported by both reception and nursing teams. They aim to provide the best clinical and reception support to their GP’s, with the practice being large enough to provide a supportive culture but small enough to be adaptive to the individual GP to ensure they have the best possible working environment. When the practice was established, no expense was spared on the fit out of the building or consulting rooms and the best medical equipment was purchased to ensure the highest level of patient care and GP satisfaction.
Windmill Hill Medical is a private billing medical practice, where the fee structure does not penalise longer consultations, allowing GP’s the ability to spend the necessary time with each of their patients. This model has proven so popular in attracting new patients, that their appointment books are now squeezed, so that routine appointments are having to be booked 3 to 4 weeks in advance.
Located in the centre of beautiful Launceston, in the heart of the Tamar Valley in Northern Tasmania, Windmill Hill Medical is the ideal base to establish your career as a GP - where achieving the ideal work life balance is no longer a dream but a reality. Windmill Hill Medical is located in one of Launceston's most desirable suburbs within easy walking distance of the Launceston Aquatic Centre and Gym, parks, private schools and cafes. Launceston is renowned as the place to explore and experience all the better things in life including world class mountain biking, bushwalking, wineries, restaurants, beaches and alpine mountains all in close proximity. Launceston is the large (pop. approx 100,000) service centre for Northern Tasmania with excellent specialist medical and surgical support through the local public and private hospital systems.
