GP/VMO – Ochre Medical Centre Scottsdale

The Organisation
With more than 65 medical centres and Urgent Care Clinics across five states and territories, Ochre Health is a service provider to over 500 doctors in a diverse range of regional, rural and urban communities.
With a population of 2,500, Scottsdale is located in Tasmania’s north-east corner, just an hour from Launceston and less than two hours to the stunning east coast. It is a farming community surrounded by green rolling hills and rich soils and famous for its lavender farms, mountain biking and world-class golf courses. That’s not to mention the local wineries, craft breweries and gourmet food.
Ochre Medical Centre Scottsdale is a purpose-built clinic with 5 consulting rooms, a 3-bay treatment room, procedure room and on-site pathology.
North Eastern Soldiers Memorial Hospital has 19 acute care beds, an emergency department (ATS Categories 1-5), outpatients, low-risk maternity, physio, radiology and visiting specialists.
Looking for a role that offers meaningful medicine, two income streams and full autonomy over your hours? Join the team in Scottsdale, just an hour from Launceston, where rural generalism meets great infrastructure and work-life balance.
The Position
Ochre Health is seeking a vocationally registered rural generalist (FRACGP or FACRRM) or RG trainee to join its thriving, well-established practice at Scottsdale, just one hour from Launceston. This is a universal bulk-billing practice with a well-established patient base.
Whether you’re seeking full-time or part-time work, this is a role where you set the pace and the rewards are real.
You will cover everything from coughs and colds to emergency care and inpatient services at the adjacent hospital, all backed by a passionate, supportive team. You will therefore need broad clinical experience across primary and emergency/inpatient care and also to hold a current emergency medicine certificate (ALS2 or equivalent with recent emergency experience (within the last 18 months)). If teaching is your thing, you will have ample opportunity.
