Practice Overview

- Consult Lengths:
- Standard consults: 20 minutes
- Management Plans/Procedures: 40 minutes
- Practice Model: Single GP practice
Clinical Support
- Daily support from:
- Experienced Registered Nurse
- Receptionist
- Clinic Coordinator
- Regular visiting allied health professionals onsite
- Statewide clinical support including:
- Medical Director (based in Hobart)
- IT and Communicare technical support
- Communication between sites via:
- Communicare intramail
- Microsoft Teams
- BBPIP: Redirected back to the practice
Accommodation and Travel
- Accommodation and vehicle access may be available, subject to availability
- We are open to discussing arrangements for interstate candidates
Tasmanian Aboriginal Centre are seeking a fully accredited GP (AHPRA registered, FRACGP or equivalent) to provide short-term locum coverage, with the potential to extend if suitable.
This role is within an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation, delivering holistic, culturally safe healthcare to Aboriginal people across lutruwita (Tasmania).
The GP will be supported by an experienced Registered Nurse and administrative team, while also being comfortable working independently in a regional setting.
Experience in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander health, Chronic Disease Management, and rural or regional practice is highly desirable. Experience with Communicare is also advantageous.
Key details of the role are outlined below:
- $1500 per day + GST
- Devonport (Tulaminakali), Tasmania
- Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
- Hours: 9:00am – 5:00pm (1 hour for lunch unpaid) – some flexibility with hours can be negotiated
- No weekend or overtime requirement
- Preferred start date of 30th June
- Supportive, low-volume, culturally focused service delivery model.
- Minimum one day onboarding required prior to commencement
