Life in Launceston, Tasmania – The Perfect Blend of Lifestyle and Career

Launceston’s mix of urban charm and natural beauty offers an idyllic lifestyle for GPs and their families.

Launceston (fondly known as “Launnie” by locals) is a vibrant regional city where history meets modern living. It boasts a thriving food and wine culture, beautiful heritage architecture, excellent schools, and a welcoming community.

Nature lovers will feel right at home. The city is famous for the stunning Cataract Gorge, a riverside sanctuary featuring walking trails, gardens, panoramic views, and the world’s longest single-span chairlift.

Despite a population of approximately 70,000 people, Launceston provides all the amenities of a larger city without the congestion and stress. The city offers daily direct flights to Melbourne and Sydney, excellent healthcare services, quality education options, and easy access to Tasmania’s world-renowned natural attractions.

Named Australia’s Town of the Year in 2022, Launceston continues to be recognised as one of the country’s most liveable regional cities. Here, you can enjoy the perfect balance between a rewarding career and an outstanding lifestyle.
