Build your future with a modern, family-run dental practice where quality care and genuine patient relationships come first.
Oceania Dental is seeking an experienced Dentist to join our friendly, family-run practice in Burnie, Tasmania, from mid-November 2026.
This is a full-time, permanent opportunity offering competitive commission, modern facilities and the flexibility to discuss working arrangements that suit the right candidate.
The Position

Core Responsibilities
- Clinical Care: Examine, diagnose, and treat oral health conditions such as tooth decay, gum disease, and dental injuries.
- Procedures: Perform routine and complex treatments, including fillings, crowns, bridges, extractions, and root canals.
- An interest in dental implants would be highly regarded but is not essential.
- Patient Education: Advise patients on daily oral hygiene, preventive care, and personalised treatment options.
- Compliance and Safety: Maintain strict infection control standards, adhere to health regulations, and keep accurate patient records.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with dental assistants, and reception staff to maintain a smooth daily schedule.
About You
Oceania Dental are looking for an experienced Dentist who is confident across general dentistry, enjoys working with patients of all ages and is committed to delivering high-quality clinical care.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A minimum of two years’ clinical experience as a Dentist in Australia. Ideally 5+ years of experience.
- Strong general clinical dentistry and communication skills.
- A genuine commitment to patient care and clinical excellence.
- Good time management and respect for patients’ time.
- A calm, approachable and compassionate manner.
- The ability to build trust and develop lasting relationships with patients.
- A positive, collaborative approach and willingness to work with the dental team.
- An interest in becoming part of a practice and contributing to its long-term success.
They are particularly interested in a Dentist who values a supportive, family-friendly workplace and appreciates the benefits of practising in an independent dental practice, where patient relationships and personalised care are central to everything they do.
What’s on Offer
- Full-time, permanent position, commencing mid-November 2026.
- Flexibility around working hours and arrangements for the right candidate.
- Competitive commission, commensurate with experience, with the potential to achieve annual gross billings exceeding $1 million for the right candidate.
- A friendly, supportive and family-friendly practice environment.
- The opportunity to enjoy a more personal approach to dentistry, with an emphasis on quality care rather than the pace and structure of a large corporate practice.
- No preferred provider restrictions.
- The opportunity to establish a long-term career with Oceania Dental.
- Mentorship and clinical support available if required.
- Modern facilities and a broad range of general and cosmetic dental services.
- Relocation assistance available for eligible candidates.
- The opportunity to live and work in Burnie, enjoying the lifestyle and natural beauty of Tasmania’s Northwest Coast.
