The Position

Brighton Regional Doctors is seeking permanent General Practitioners to join their close-knit, supportive team. The practice currently has full appointment books due to high demand. Flexible working hours are available during practice opening hours, Monday to Friday. No weekend work or on call is required.

Core responsibilities:

  • Providing consultations, assessments, and ongoing patient management
  • Identifying, diagnosing, and treating a wide range of conditions
  • Coordinating patient care and referring to allied health and specialist services
  • Participating in chronic disease management and preventive health programs
  • Using clinical software to maintain accurate medical records
  • Contributing to practice team meetings and clinical governance activities

Required Skills & Experience

  • Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent)
  • Current AHPRA registration or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia
  • At least 3 years postgraduate clinical experience
  • Previous GP experience of at least one year, either in Australia or overseas.
  • Strong clinical judgement and communication skills
  • Commitment to evidence-based patient care
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
  • Current CPR certificate or ability to obtain one

Highly regarded:

  • Fellowship of RACGP or ACRRM; or working toward Fellowship.


The Organisation

Brighton Regional Doctors located in Brighton which is an easy 25-minute drive north of Hobart CBD. Brighton is an area of high growth, has a large primary school and a brand-new high school.

The practice team prides themselves on fostering a collaborative and nurturing environment, with a focus on personalised, high-quality care and chronic disease/proactive medicine. They have strong ethics and values and have tried hard to create a workplace where everyone wants to go to work.

In March 2024 the team moved into their new, state-of-the-art practice, thoughtfully designed with both staff and patient comfort in mind. It offers a modern and welcoming space ensuring a pleasant and efficient work experience with a spacious and comfortable break room, and light filled, well-equipped consultation and treatment rooms. Hobart Pathology is on-site offering convenient access to pathology collection services. At present visiting Allied Health include, psychology, Exercise Physiologist and Dietetics.

The mixed-billing practice is fully accredited with AGPAL, is an accredited training practice with RACGP, uses Best Practice software, and uses AutoMed for online bookings.


What's on offer?

A starting salary of $120,000 is offered based on full time hours, with the alternative option of earnings based on a percentage of receipted billings. As part of a non-corporate clinic you can also help shape the services offered to patients. The remuneration package is negotiable based on qualifications and experience.
