As Centre Manager at headspace Hobart, you’ll lead a passionate multidisciplinary team and oversee the delivery of services across mental health, sexual health, alcohol, tobacco and other drugs, and a specialised work and study program. The Position
The headspace Hobart Centre Manager is a senior leadership role within The Link Youth Health Service, responsible for strategic oversight, operational management, and the ongoing growth and success of the headspace Hobart program.
Reporting to the CEO and as part of The Link’s Senior Management Team, you will:
- Lead and support a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, youth-focused services
- Promote youth and family participation in all aspects of the program
- Represent the organisation at community and sector events
- Oversee day-to-day operations, staff development, recruitment, and compliance with accreditation standards, policies, and safety protocols
- Manage budgets, key performance indicators, and contribute to strategic planning
- Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing workplace culture
About You
You are an experienced and motivated leader with:
- A degree-level qualification in allied health, behavioural/social sciences, youth work, mental health nursing, or a related discipline (post-graduate qualifications in business or health services management are highly desirable)
- Minimum five years’ experience in a mid/senior leadership role within a community or health setting, including managing complex programs
- Proven ability to lead and develop multidisciplinary teams, including recruitment, induction, onboarding, coaching, and performance management
- Strong experience in management processes, including quality improvement, data collection and analysis, policy development, and risk management
- Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships across internal and external stakeholders
- A thorough understanding of the Australian youth demographic, their challenges, and the specific needs of priority and diverse populations
- Knowledge of the Australian healthcare system and experience contributing to strategic planning and program development

The Link Youth Health Service
is a well-established, youth-specialist organisation with more than 30 years of experience supporting young Tasmanians aged 12–25 to live healthy, empowered lives. Guided by the values of Authenticity, Compassion, Walking Together, Respect, and Trust, The Link fosters a culture aligned with its mission and purpose, prioritising the voices and needs of young people.
The organisation operates headspace Hobart, delivering integrated services across mental health, sexual health, alcohol, tobacco and other drugs, and work and study support via a multidisciplinary team based on Liverpool Street.
In addition to headspace, The Link offers a range of holistic health and wellbeing services, including an Open Access drop-in centre, a drug and alcohol program, a needle and syringe exchange, and coordination of a Youth Health Fund supported by a statewide network of youth health workers.

Position details:
- Location: Hobart, Tasmania (some intrastate and interstate travel may be required)
- Hours: Up to full-time, 38 hours per week
- Contract: Fixed term to 30 June 2028
- Salary: SCHADS Level 8.1
- Relocation Allowance: For interstate applicants of up to $6,000 available to the right candidate.
