The practice is located in a family friendly boutique city which means you have patients from a wide variety of backgrounds with 1 in 5 adults born overseas.
Other than born Australians the population is predominantly from England, India, Nepal, NZ, Philippines and increasingly SE Asia and Africa.
The age groups are well spread across infants, children, teens, adults and the aged with a strong focus on family medicine including women’s children’s and men’s health, geriatrics, chronic disease (top 3 are arthritis, asthma and diabetes), mental health and skin.
The practice is open to any area of special interest you might want to pursue. There is onsite parking for staff, various allied health support is on site or nearby.
Northwest Tasmanian is centered around the boutique city of Devonport. This beautiful coastal location has much to offer. Standing on the beaches, you’re looking over at the Australian Mainland which is granted just a smudge in the distance, and you’re right where the “Spirit of Tasmania” drops its new Tasmanian inhabitants and explorers. Devonport is the major regional center in this area and is embarking on a massive transformation. Living City will bring new retail, business and waterfront precincts to Devonport, highlighting tourism, arts, food and services. Invest in this growing town now! The area has multiple excellent primary schools, high schools and senior specific colleges so your children can get the best education. HR+ provide an invaluable service to Practice Managers in Tasmania. Jenny has acted as a mentoring support for me since I commenced at Don Medical Clinic in September 2018, and also supported me through networking events and education during my previous practice manager role in Hobart. Having a mentor like Jenny from HR+ has made a huge difference to me as I find my feet in the challenging world of practice management. I have found the support that HR+ provide, not only with mentoring but also the events put on by the Practice Support team, and the email support networking resources that are regularly provided, are invaluable and I am sure for many other practice managers in the state.
